Distribution and Habitat

Bunbury to Albany, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in seasonally wet areas, flowering only in the season following summer fire.

Description

A swamp-loving species 200–350 mm high with four to six smooth leaves 80–120 mm long by 1–3 mm wide and up to six yellow, brown marked flowers 18–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Purdie’s Donkey Orchid (Diuris purdiei) by its generally paler coloured flowers, larger dorsal sepal, larger labellum lateral lobes and more southerly distribution.
