Distribution and Habitat

Three Springs to Albany with a disjunct populations east of Esperance, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in seasonally wet areas.

Description

A common species 300–800 mm high with two to five smooth, terete leaves 80–250 mm long by 2–3 mm wide and up to six small, yellow, brown marked flowers 20–25 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Common Bee Orchid (Diuris decrementum) by its taller stature and larger flowers with a longer, narrower labellum midlobe. It also has a later flowering period and rarely forms distinct clumps.
