Distribution and Habitat

Denmark to Toolinna Cove, growing in sandy soils in coastal and near coastal woodlands and shrublands.

Description

An early flowering species 180–300 mm high with two to three smooth leaves 80–200 mm long by 3–8 mm wide and up to six yellow, brown and mauve flowers 25–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the often co-occurring South Coast Donkey Orchid (Diuris brockmanii) by its later flowering period, larger more colourful flowers and longer labellum midlobe.
