Distribution and Habitat

Mogumber to Mingenew, growing in sandy and lateritic soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

An early flowering species 150–350 mm high with two to three smooth leaves 50–200 mm long by 3–7 mm wide and up to four yellow and brown flowers 20–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It has been confused with Winter Donkey Orchid (Diuris brumalis) but has fewer, generally more darkly marked flowers and a larger labellum midlobe. It also has a generally earlier flowering period and a more northerly distribution.
