Distribution and Habitat

York to Paynes Find and eastwards to Norseman, growing in seasonally wet sandy-clay soil around the bases of granite outcrops.

Description

An inland bee species 200–600 mm high with four to six smooth, terete leaves 100–150 mm long by 2–4 mm wide and up to eight yellow or creamy-white, brown marked flowers 20–30 mm across. Populations of creamy-white flowered plants can occasionally be found.

Distinguishing Features

The species is related to Bee Orchid (Diuris laxiflora) and Common Bee Orchid (D. decrementum) but has larger flowers and a more inland range of distribution.
