Distribution and Habitat

North of Mingenew to Brookton, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in a variety of habitats from woodlands and shrublands to the slopes of rocky breakaways and the margins of granite outcrops.

Description

A common species 200–350 mm high with two to three smooth leaves 150–200 mm long by 7–10 mm wide and up to seven yellow and reddish-brown flowers 20–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Mini Donkey Orchid (Diuris recurva) by its larger, generally more colourful flowers.
