Distribution and Habitat

Eneabba to north of Dongara, growing in sandy soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A distinctive dark flowered species 200–300 mm high with two to three smooth leaves 120–200 mm long by 4–8 mm wide and up to five rich reddish-brown and yellow flowers 20–25 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It often grows in the same area as Dainty Donkey Orchid (Diuris refracta) and Early Donkey Orchid (D. perialla) but has darker coloured flowers and flowers after those species have finished.
