Distribution and Habitat

Gnowangerup to south west of Kojonup, growing in sandy soils in open woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A recently rediscovered species 150–220 mm high with a smooth heart-shaped, ground-hugging leaf 15–20 mm long by 12–18 mm wide and a single dull greenish-yellow and purplish-red flower 3–4 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Warty Hammer Orchid (Drakaea livida) by its smaller flowers and more densely hairy, less inflated labellum.
