Distribution and Habitat

Boxwood Hill to Dandaragan, growing in sandy and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

A relatively rare species 100–250 mm high with a smooth heart-shaped, ground-hugging leaf 15–20 mm long by 12–18 mm wide and a single dull greenish-yellow and purplish-red flower 3–5 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the closely related Warty Hammer Orchid (Drakaea livida) by its shorter flower scape and smaller, narrower, uniformly-coloured labellum with a more slender neck.
