Distribution and Habitat

Mingenew to Toolinna Cove, growing in sandy-clay soils in woodlands and shrublands. The subspecies does not require summer fire to flower.

Description

A common, wheatbelt subspecies 100–250 mm high with a wavy margined leaf 10–30 mm long by 5–8 mm wide and up to three white, dull green and red flowers 9–14 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is most similar to Blunt-leaved Bunny Orchid (Eriochilus dilatatus subsp. brevifolius) but has a larger leaf which is usually green on both sides, a taller stature, a less fleshy flower stem and an earlier flowering period. It also has a largely more south-easterly distribution.
