Distribution and Habitat

Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay, growing in sandy-clay and lateritic soils in seasonally damp habitat. In some areas it grows on and around the margins of granite outcrops. The species does not require summer fire to flower.

Description

A common, moisture loving species 50–150 mm high with a smooth or wavy margined leaf 5–17 mm long by 2–10 mm wide and up to two (rarely three) white, dull green and red flowers 8–10 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related White Bunny Orchid (Eriochilus dilatatus) by its small, broad leaf, usually single-flowered inflorescence, petals appressed against the column and preference for winter-wet habitats.
