Leporella has one or two smooth green, red-striped leaves, a smooth flower stem and up to four green and purple flowers with a short, broad dorsal sepal, narrow, erect, ear-like petals, narrow, hanging lateral sepals and a broad, prominently fringed labellum. The leaves are often immature when plants are in early flower, expanding to their full size as the flowers mature
