Robert Brown in Prodromus florae Novae Hollandiae et insulae Van-Diemen, exhibens characteres plantarum quas annis 1802-1805: 325 (1810) as Caladenia menziesii

Distribution and Habitat

Port Gregory to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands, flowering predominantly in the season following summer fire. The species is also found in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

Description

A colony forming species 100–300 mm high with one or two smooth leaves 60–100 mm long by 25–30 mm wide and up to five red and white flowers 10–15 mm across.
