Distribution and Habitat

Perth to Israelite Bay with disjunct populations north of Geraldton, growing in sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests, woodlands and seasonally wet flats.

Description

A common species 200–600 mm high with a smooth tubular leaf 150–500 mm long by 2–6 mm wide and up to 50 widely spaced green flowers 2.5–3 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from all other members of the Microtis media complex by its widely spaced flowers and labellum which is held flat against the ovary.
