Distribution and Habitat

Mullewa to Balladonia, growing in shallow soil pockets on granite outcrops. Possibly also occurs in South Australia and western New South Wales.

Description

An inland species 200–500 mm high with a smooth tubular leaf 200–500 mm long by 5–8 mm wide and up to 50 sometimes sweetly fragrant, green to yellowish-green flowers 2.5–3 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Desert Mignonette Orchid (Microtis eremicola) with which it often intergrades by its more obviously concave dorsal sepal, thickened labellum margins lacking granular excrescences and basal labellum calli which are not comma-shaped.
