Distribution and Habitat

Three Springs to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in seasonally wet areas. The species is also found in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

Description

A common species 150–350 mm high with a smooth tubular leaf 100–300 mm long by 2–3 mm wide and up to 30 yellowish-green or dull brownish-red, often widely-spaced flowers 2–3 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Cupped Mignonette Orchid (Microtis cupularis) by its recurved petals, hanging lateral sepals and flattened labellum.
