Distribution and Habitat

Bunbury to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in coastal flats. Plants flower in greater profusion following summer fire.

Description

A little-known, predominantly south-coastal species 300–800 mm high with a smooth tubular leaf 200–400 mm long by 3–8 mm wide and up to 100 yellowish-green flowers 2.5–3 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is is distinguished from the related Common Mignonette Orchid (Microtis media) by its shorter, more deeply concave, lightly ribbed dorsal sepal, blunter petals, less distinctly curled lateral sepals and more evenly spaced marginal labellum excrescences.
