Distribution and Habitat

East of Geraldton to Eurary Station, growing in sandy soils in shrublands.

Description

A northern species 80–140 mm high with broad, smooth leaf 20–30 mm long by 5–8 mm wide and one (rarely two) inverted, greenish-yellow and red flowers 8–10 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from Alcock’s Duck Orchid (Paracaleana alcockii) and Northampton Duck Orchid (P. sp. ‘Northampton’) which share the same northerly distribution by its lamina calli which are fewer in number and confined to the tip of the labellum.
