Distribution and Habitat

Dandaragan to Esperance, growing in deep sandy soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A distinctive species 60–140 mm high with a broad, smooth leaf 15–30 mm long by 5–10 mm wide and one (rarely two) inverted, greenish-yellow and red flowers 8–10 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from Brockman’s Duck Orchid (Paracaleana brockmanii) by its fresh rather than shrivelled leaf when flowering, smaller flowers and earlier flowering period.
