Description

Pecteilis species have an ovoid tuber buried 80 to 20 mm below the soil surface. From this tuber, three or four somewhat fleshy leaves are produced with the onset of the summer wet season, followed by a 100–200 mm tall inflorescence with up to 50 small greenish-white to white flowers. A feature of the flowers that makes this genus distinctive from other Kimberley orchids is the nectary spur that protrudes from the base of the labellum.
