George Bentham in Flora Australiensis 6: 387 (1873) as Caladenia aphylla
Distribution and Habitat
Baldivis to Israelite Bay, the typical form growing in sandy soils in forests and woodlands between Pinjarra and Manypeaks and the eastern form growing in sandy-clay soils in low shrublands between the Stirling Range and Condingup.

Description
An early flowering, leafless (when flowering) species 200–400 mm high with a fragrant, creamy-white to pale yellow, fan-shaped flower 25–40 mm across. Non-flowering plants have a smooth prominently striped leaf. There are two forms – the typical lower southwest form with creamy-white flowers and an eastern form with pale yellow flowers.
