Distribution and Habitat
Kalbarri to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands, flowering best in the season following summer fire. Also found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.

Description
A common species 300–1200 mm high with a smooth tubular leaf 200–1000 mm long by 4–15 mm wide and up to 100 greenish- yellow to purplish-black flowers 10–15 mm across.
Distinguishing Features
It is distinguished from the related Inland Leek Orchid (Prasophyllum macrotys) by its usually lighter colouration, more widely opening flowers and south-westerly distribution.
