Distribution and Habitat

Denmark to Two Peoples Bay with a disjunct population east of Esperance, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in seasonally wet flats. The species does not require a summer fire to flower.

Description

A rare species 150–250 mm high with a smooth tubular leaf 100–200 mm long by 4–5 mm wide and up to 70 yellowish-green and purple flowers 4–5 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the closely related Laughing Leek Orchid (Prasophyllum macrostachyum) by its shorter lateral sepals, broader labellum and, where they grow together, usually earlier flowering period.
