Distribution and Habitat

Toodyay to Bunbury and eastwards to Wickepin, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A robust species 200–400 mm high with 10 to 20 cauline leaves 40–60 mm long by 4–14 mm wide and up to 20 semi translucent, dark reddish-brown and white flowers 14–20 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Dark Banded Greenhood (Pterostylis sanguinea) by its more robust appearance and larger, more numerous, darker coloured flowers.
