Distribution and Habitat

Dandaragan to Albany, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

An inland species 50–150 mm high with a loose, ascending rosette of leaves 12–35 mm across, two to four cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, brown-marked, green and white flowers 10–13 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from Dwarf Bird Orchid (Pterostylis galgulus) by its larger flowers and longer dorsal sepal. From the other members of the Pterostylis barbata complex it is distinguished by its shorter dorsal sepal.
