Distribution and Habitat

Northampton to Toolina Cove, growing in sandy, sandy-clay, lateritic and granitic soils in forests, woodlands, shrublands and shallow soil pockets on granite outcrops.

Description

An early flowering species 50–150 mm high with three to five cauline leaves 5–20 mm long by 1–4 mm wide and one (rarely two) translucent, green and pale white flowers 7–10 mm across. Vegetative plants have a basal rosette of leaves and flowering plants have just cauline leaves.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from members of the Pterostylis aspera complex by its smaller flowers and thickened lateral sepals. Unlike members of the Pterostylis nana complex it lacks a basal rosette of leaves when flowering.
