Mingenew to Hyden, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A common rufus greenhood 100–350 mm high with six to 15 leaves forming a ground-hugging basal rosette 20–170 mm across and up to seven translucent, green and white flowers 8 to 11 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Elegant Rufous Greenhood (Pterostylis elegantissima) by its paler coloured labellum and north-westerly distribution. From Spoon-lipped Rufous Greenhood (P. spathulata) it is distinguished by its erect flowers and flattened, rather than cupped sepals.
