Distribution and Habitat

Munglinup to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy-clay soil in woodlands and shrublands. In one area the species was found on a small granite outcrop nestled in a salt lake.

Description

A rare species 80–160 mm high with a loose, ascending rosette of leaves 10–30 mm across, two to six cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, brown-marked, green and white flowers 8–10 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the similar Dwarf bird Orchid (Pterostylis galgulus), which also has small flowers with a short dorsal sepal, by its densely hairy labellum and easterly distribution.
