Distribution and Habitat

Mount Frankland to Pogrongurup, growing in soil pockets on granite outcrops.

Description

An uncommon species 35–100 mm high with five to eight basal leaves forming an ascending basal rosette 8–24 mm across, three to five cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, green and white flowers 4–5 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Granite Loving Snail Orchid (Pterostylis sp. ‘southern granites’), which also grows on granite outcrops, by its numerous, large cauline leaves and shorter, thickened lateral sepals.
