Distribution and Habitat

Pingerup to Albany, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in seasonally wet flats and drainage lines.

Description

A swamp loving species 50–160 mm high with four to six leaves forming a ground-hugging basal rosette 8–16 mm across, two to three cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, green and white flowers 4–5 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Long-sepaled Snail Orchid (Pterostylis gracillima) by its usually smaller rosette of leaves and swampy rather than granite outcrop habitat.
