Distribution and Habitat

Nerren Nerren Station to Ravensthorpe, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and granitic soils in mallee woodlands, shrublands and shallow soil pockets on breakaways and granite outcrops.

Description

A widespread species 35–180 mm high with three to seven cauline leaves 4–40 mm long by 1–5 mm wide and up to four translucent olive-green and white or dark brown and white flowers 3–5 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the closely related Frog Greenhood (Pterostylis sargentii) by the narrow, hairy (vs broad, glabrous) horn-like structures on the labellum.
