Distribution and Habitat

Beacon to east of Balladonia, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in woodlands and shrublands. The species is common on breakaways and inland granite outcrops.

Description

An inland species 150–250 mm high with six to 10 leaves forming a ground-hugging basal rosette 30–50 mm across and up to six greasy-textured translucent, green and white to greenish-brown and white flowers 8–12 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from Painted Rufous Greenhood (Pterostylis picta) by its darker coloured flowers, broader lateral sepals and generally more north-easterly distribution
