Distribution and Habitat

Kalbarri to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A common inland species 80–150 mm high with three to six cauline leaves 20–70 mm long by 2–5 mm wide and one (rarely two) translucent, dull green to greenish-brown (more rarely brown) and white flowers 12–15 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Narrow-hooded Shell Orchid (Pterostylis angusta) by its broader hood, shorter labellum and more northerly and easterly distribution.
