Distribution and Habitat

Preston Beach to Albany, growing in sandy and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands.

Description

A south coastal species 50–250 mm high with four to eight leaves forming a ground-hugging or ascending basal rosette 24–44 mm across arranged spirally up the stem, one to four cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, green and white flowers 6–7 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the similar Slender Snail Orchid (Pterostylis crispula) by its smaller flowers, shorter lateral sepals and labellum with scabrous margins.
