Distribution and Habitat

Augusta to Tenterden, growing in sandy and sandy-clay soils in woodlands and shrublands, often around the margins of seasonally wet flats.

Description

A little-known species 120–200 mm high with a loose, ascending rosette of leaves 12–35 mm across, two to four cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, light green and white flowers 9–11 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from Bearded Bird Orchid (Pterostylis turfosa) by its shorter, prominently upcurved dorsal sepal.
