Distribution and Habitat

Dardanup to Walpole, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests and woodlands and more rarely in shallow soil pockets on granite outcrops.

Description

A common species 150–300 mm high with a loose, ascending rosette of leaves 15–35 mm across, two to six cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, brown-marked, green and white flowers 8–12 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Bird Orchid (Pterostylis barbata) by its longer dorsal sepal and more sparsely hairy labellum.
