Distribution and Habitat

Murchison River to Munglinup, growing in sandy-clay and clay soils in woodlands and shrublands and in shallow soil pockets on inland granite outcrops.

Description

An common species 200–300 mm high with seven to 10 leaves forming a ground-hugging basal rosette 50–60 mm across and up to 10 translucent, green and white to greenish-brown and white flowers 12–14 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Salt Lake Rufous Greenhood (Pterostylis eremaea) by its less prominently nodding flowers and non-striped labellum with fewer marginal hairs. From the similar Large-hooded Rufous Greenhood (Pterostylis macrocalymma) it is distinguished by its taller stature and smaller flowers.
