Distribution and Habitat

Westonia to Waychinicup and eastwards to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and clay soils in woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A diminutive species 50–150 mm high with four to six leaves forming a ground-hugging basal rosette 8–12 mm across, one to two cauline leaves and one (rarely two) translucent, dull green or fawn and white flowers 4–6 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the closely related Fawn Snail Orchid (Pterostylis parva) by its taller stature and generally narrower flowers. Otherwise they are very similar and may represent forms of the same species.
