Distribution and Habitat

Wannamal to Israelite Bay, growing in sandy, sandy-clay and lateritic soils in forests, woodlands and shrublands. At the eastern end of its range the species is confined to shallow soil pockets on granite outcrops.

Description

An early flowering species 200–450 mm high with three to 14 cauline leaves 20–50 mm long by 4–7 mm wide and up to 25 translucent, green and white (more rarely fawn and white) flowers 8–10 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the other members of the Pterostylis vittata complex by its tall flower scapes, smaller, more numerous green and white translucent flowers and earlier flowering period.
