Distribution and Habitat

Shark Bay to Israelite Bay, growing on creek margins, seasonally moist flats and granite outcrops. The species is also found in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

Description

A common, colony-forming species 100–250 mm high with a narrow, smooth leaf 80–150 mm long by 2–3 mm wide and up to four lemon-yellow, lemon-scented flowers 20–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the other yellow flowered Thelymitra species in Western Australia by its distinctive column with a yellow forward projecting central lobe and reddish-brown ear-like lateral lobes.
