Distribution and Habitat

Perth to Bremer Bay with disjunct populations east of Esperance, growing in forests, woodlands and shrublands.

Description

A late flowering species 200–300 mm high with a broad, smooth leaf 50–150 mm long by 20–30 mm wide which is often shrivelled at the time of flowering and up to 10 pale brown and yellow (often chestnut coloured) flowers 25–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Leopard Orchid (Thelymitra benthamiana) by its generally more colourful flowers, narrower, pointed column central lobe, more numerous column hairs and later flowering period.
