Distribution and Habitat

Wongan Hills to Dumbleyung and eastwards to Hyden, growing in sandy-clay or gravelly-loams in open woodlands. It is particularly common on the slopes to lateritic breakaways.

Description

An uncommon species 100–600 mm high with a narrow, smooth leaf 150–300 mm long by 3–8 mm wide and up to 12 blue or pink, striped flowers 20–25 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from other members of the complex by the forwardly compressed, irregular margined crest to the column midlobe.
