Distribution and Habitat
Perth Hills, growing in sandy-clay and lateritic soil in shrublands surrounding granite outcrops.

Description
A geographically restricted species 200–350 mm high with a broad, smooth leaf 100–150 mm long by 20–30 mm wide and up to eight rich-brown, orange and yellow, high ly fragrant flowers 25–40 mm across.
Distinguishing Features
It is distinguished from the related Star Sun Orchid (Thelymitra stellata) by its taller inflorescence, more prominently glandular column midlobe and earlier flowering period.
