Distribution and Habitat

Three Springs to Bremer Bay with disjunct populations east of Esperance, growing in seasonally wet flats and along drainage lines. Also found in South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania.

Description

A swamp-dwelling species 300–500 mm high with a narrow, smooth leaf 150–200 mm long by 5–7 mm wide and up to six small, plum-coloured flowers 15–20 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the other members of the Thelymitra macrophylla complex by its small purple striped flowers and distinctive column with a prominently cleft purple and yellow mid lobe and yellow, tufted lateral lobes.
