South of Denmark, growing in sandy-clay soil in woodlands.

Description

A rare species 100–300 mm high with a broad, smooth leaf 50–100 mm long by 20–25 mm wide and up to seven pale yellow to greenish-yellow flowers 20–30 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Leopard Orchid (Thelymitra benthamiana) by its smaller, self-pollinating, wholly pale yellow flowers. Where the two species grow together it flowers later than T. benthamiana.
