Distribution and Habitat

Forrestania area east of Hyden, growing in sandy rises above saline flats and lakes.

Description

An inland salt lake species 150–400 mm high with a narrow, smooth leaf 100–200 mm long by 3–6 mm wide and up to 12 blue or purplish-blue flowers 18–22 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Granite Sun Orchid (Thelymitra petrophila), which grows in the same area, by its later flowering period, smaller flowers and different habitat on sandy-rises above saline flats and salt lakes.
