Distribution and Habitat

Kalbarri to Geraldton, growing in sandy soil amongst sedges and low shrubs.

Description

A relatively common northern species 100–300 mm high with a narrow, smooth leaf 40–80 mm long by 3–8 mm wide at its widest point and up to three mauve-pink to pale-pink variably mauve blotched flowers 30–40 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the related Curly-locks (Thelymitra spiralis) by its generally smaller flowers and shorter, broader column with shorter lateral lobes.
