Northampton to Eurardy Station, growing amongst sedges in woodlands and shrublands.

Description
A northern species 200–600 mm high with a narrow, smooth leaf 100–200 mm long by 8–12 mm wide and up to 12 blue or purplish-blue flowers 25–30 mm across.
Distinguishing Features
It is distinguished from the often co-occurring Northern Scented Sun Orchid (Thelymitra sp. ‘Murchison’) by its purplish-black column central lobe and later flowering period.
