Distribution and Habitat
Gingin to Dongara, growing in sandy-clay and lateritic soil on the tops of low lateritic hills.

Description
A recently recognised species 200–300 mm high with a broad, smooth leaf 50–150 mm long by 20–30 mm wide which is often shrivelled at the time of flowering and up to seven orange and yellow, cinnamon-scented flowers 30–40 mm across.
Distinguishing Features
It is distinguished from the closely related Star Orchid (Thelymitra stellata) by its taller inflorescence and less prominently blotched flowers. It also has an earlier flowering period and more northerly distribution.
