Aeolosomatidae (Aphanoneura) are small, interstitial annelid worms with reduced segment number and a unique configuration of the reproductive organs. Although aeolosomatids are related to oligochaetes such as earthworms they do not resemble most members of that taxon, but might well be mis-identified as some form of aberrant flatworm.
